  • To get a library card, visit one of our ten branches & fill out a registration card.  You will need to present identification & proof of current address.  You can also apply for a library card online.

  • Patrons from eligible surrounding parishes can obtain a Lafourche Parish Public Library Card:

    • Assumption

    • Grand Isle

    • St. Charles

    • St. James

    • St. John

    • St. Mary

    • Terrebonne

  • Nicholls State University students may obtain a library card with student identification.

  • There are two types of registration forms:

    • Adult - For patrons 16 years and older.

  • A library card is for the exclusive use of the person whose name appears on it, unless otherwise designated by a branch supervisor.

  • Library cards can be used at all branches & outreach events.

  • Only one library card will be issued per person.

  • Library cards are free; however, a $1 fee will be charged for each replacement card.

Using Your Library Card

  • Your library card must be presented to check out materials.

  • The barcode number on the back of your card and your PIN give you log-in access to our entire digital collection, as well as access to manage your library account online.  Read ebooks, watch movies, listen to music, read magazines, learn a foreign language, train your brain, & more using your library card!  You can also renew items, place holds, & see what you have checked out by logging into your library account.

  • You may establish or change your PIN by calling or visiting one of our library branches.  A PIN is required to use various resources in our digital collection.  To establish or change your PIN, you will need to verify your library account information, including library card number, date of birth, address, & phone number.
