Laura's Review: "Luckiest Girl Alive"

Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll

Ani’s life was perfect, she created it that way. But really, it’s a perfect lie! Jessica Knolls has weaved a complex character with amazing twists and turns.

“As a teenager at the prestigious Bradley School, Ani FaNelli endured a shocking, public humiliation that left her desperate to reinvent herself. Now, with a glamorous job, expensive wardrobe, and handsome blue blood fiancé, she’s this close to living the perfect life she’s worked so hard to achieve. But Ani has a secret. There’s something else buried in her past that still haunts her, something private and painful that threatens to bubble to the surface and destroy everything.”

Ani is shallow, judging everyone she meets. The thing is Ani knows she is a horrible person and has crafted her world around so many lies to make sure no one else knows. You won’t hate her though; actually you will like her because Jessica Knolls wrote her character so well that you feel for her situation. As for her life, you know something happened, something bad but as the story unfolds you think you know what is coming but you don’t. There are well placed hints that you won’t see until the end. So many curves and surprises in this story that putting it down is hard. I would compare it to Gone Girl and The Girl on a Train but that doesn’t do it justice – Read it and see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
