Audacious

Audacious

by Beth Moore

Audacious: intrepidly daring, adventurous, bold, marked by originality and verve. What a great title for a book about the journey to developing deep faith. Gifted teacher Beth Moore uses two questions to draw readers towards a renewed purpose: "What is your dream? What is your vision for the future?"

Moore transparently shares life experiences with gut-wrenching honesty and laugh-out-loud storytelling in her easy-to-read, conversational style. It's hard to deny the fact that she has a burning passion and love for God. This perspective is brought to difficult life challenges such as being a victim of abuse, dealing with teenage pregnancy, and dealing with mental illness. Other topics illuminated which are common to us all include trust, honesty, authenticity, desire, deceit, reconciling the past, and evolving relationships. Her desire for us to know Jesus with the same depth as she does, for us to travel the bumpy road of life with Him at our side, and for us to grab hold of what He has called us to do, is contagious. This book is an inspiration and a reminder that a life of faith is meant to be an adventure.

Quotes:

“To love God more is never to love people less. It’s to love people best. It’s to keep their sins against you from being unforgivable and your sins against them from being ignorable.”

“Nobody is left more wanting than the one who did only what he wanted.”

"If we stomp out every bit of spontaneity and edge out every inch of risk in our divine romance with Jesus, we are going to flatten what was meant to be the greatest thrill of our lives into the roadkill of religious routine."
