Twelve Days of Christmas

Twelve Days of Christmas

By Debbie Macomber

Julia Padden is caught up in the spirit of Christmas. Her job as a clerk at Macy’s department store and volunteering as a choral director for a Boys and Girls Club has her spreading Christmas cheer around the city. Julia’s Christmas cheer suddenly comes to a halt when she meets Cain Maddox, her across-the-hall neighbor.

Cain is one of the few people who do not give in to Julia’s bubbly personality. She and Cain leave for work each morning at the same time. Julia tries to make small talk with him but he just brushes her off with quick, short replies. One morning, Julia catches Cain stealing her newspaper. His theory is that someone has stolen his and so he has the right to steal someone else’s. This is where the battle begins.

Julia has struggled to attain a college degree in communications and has been trying to land a job in her field for quite some time. Presently, she and another applicant are up for a job at Harvestware, a major software company. Harvestware has decided that the top two applicants should write a blog; and the one who generates the largest following in the month of December will be awarded the job. Julia decides that Cain Maddox will be the subject of her blog and she will “kill him with kindness” over the next twelve days. Little does she know that her blog will trend nationwide and Cain “Ebenezer” Maddox will become a follower.

Will Julia’s blog change her Grinch’s heart? Read this wholesome and hope-filled novel to find out. Twelve Days of Christmas is a “fast read, I-can’t-put-down” kind of book and I know you will enjoy every minute of it!
