Come Honor Your Veterans at the Library!


Veterans Day is celebrated every year on November 11, and your library is getting ready to show our community’s appreciation for the brave men and women who have put their lives on the line in the name of keeping us safe and free. Every branch will have displays up all month celebrating our veterans, so feel free to come and find something to inspire your celebrations coming up. If you have the time, think about joining us for our special celebrations listed below:

Veterans Thank You Cards: Come make a card to be given to a veteran on Veterans’ Day. November 3, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Choctaw branch.

Veterans Social: Enjoy coffee and donuts at an early celebration for all Veterans and their family members. November 5, 2:00 pm at the Raceland branch.

Veterans Day Refreshments: All local Veterans and their families are welcome to enjoy refreshments to show our appreciation of their service. November 10, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Choctaw branch.

Veterans’ Day Library Social: Join us in honoring our veterans at our annual social. November 10, 4:00 pm at the Lockport branch.

Veterans Day Breakfast: Breakfast will be served to our local veterans and a choir will perform patriotic songs. November 11, 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Thibodaux branch.

Veterans Day Celebration: Coffee and pastries will be offered to honor those who have served our country. November 11, 11:00 am at the Bayou Blue branch.

Veterans Day Open House: An open house at the library. November 11, 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Larose branch.

Veterans’ Day Craft: All Ages can create a beautiful painting commemorating our soldiers who fought for our freedoms. November 11, 4:00 pm at the Raceland branch.

Veterans Appreciation Day: We want to give thanks to all our veterans. Come in and get a donut and a goody bag. November 11, all day at the Golden Meadow branch.

Veterans Day: Punch and cookies will be on offer to honor our veterans. November 11, all day at the South Lafourche branch.
