January is Fine-Forgiveness Month!

With the New Year just beginning, why not get a fresh start with your Lafourche Parish Library account? Do you have existing overdue fines on your account that you would love to see disappear? Are these overdue fines blocking your account and preventing you from downloading any of the Library’s many eResources? Do you have items still checked out, but are long overdue? Do you have lost items (that you still have) on your account? Bring the items back and you can make the late fees vanish!

During January, Library Customers who have an existing overdue fine on their accounts will have an opportunity to have these fines waived by bringing in donations of canned or non-perishable food items. These items can be for people or pets. In addition to helping yourself, you will be helping your community. The donated items will be given to local food banks and animal shelters throughout Lafourche Parish. [The Library cannot accept any item that is past its expiration date.] Stop by any Customer Service desk in any Library Branch and our friendly Library staff will be glad to help.

During Fine-Forgiveness Month (January), if an item is returned late and accrues a fine, this fine is waived without a donation.

This is a win-win situation! What are you waiting for? Find all those overdue library items that have been cluttering up your house and bring them back to the Library. Clear your account of those pesky overdue fines. If you haven’t been in the Library for a while, stop in and see all the new items available for checkout! We want you to be able to access all the wonderful Library resources that are just waiting … for YOU!

*Laptop, Nook, Launchpad, and Playaway fines are not included in this program.
