From decorating eggs to watching Easter movies, from Easter Egg hunts to photographs with the Easter Bunny, your local libraries will be doing it up big this Easter season and you are invited to attend the gala celebrations. Easter is on March 27 and children throughout the parish will have wonderful opportunities to participate in many Easter events.
All of our libraries will have Easter-themed activities and we would be delighted for you to attend.
Thibodaux Branch: Children will be creating a 3D bunny (registration required) and then watch Universal Pictures’ HOP. Saturday, March 5 at 12:30 and 1:00. Sharpie Easter egg decorating will take place on Monday, March 21 at 4:30 (registration required.) Children and parents are invited to the annual library Easter Egg Hunt inside the branch. The Easter Bunny will be at the branch to take photos with children. There will be an Easter-themed story time followed by the egg hunt and a prize ceremony. Wednesday, March 23 at 10:30.
Choctaw Branch: The Easter Bunny will visit the library and take pictures with the children. Parents must bring a camera. Snacks will be enjoyed by all. Thursday, March 10 at 4:30. Join us for Edible Easter Treats, a quick, easy and kid-friendly dessert program. (registration required) Wednesday, March 16 at 4:30.
Bayou Blue Branch: Have fun at our Floppy Hoppy Bunny story time with a visit from the Easter Bunny on Monday, March 21 at 10:30. Bring your camera for pictures. Join us in making Book Bunnies using modge podge, old books and bunny figurines. Wednesday, March 23 at 1:30.
Raceland Branch: Join in the library’s Easter Egg Hunt featuring a visit from the Easter Bunny. Bring your camera for a photo opportunity and an Easter basket to participate in the egg hunt. Thursday, March 24 at 5:00.
Gheens Branch: On Tuesday, March 15 at 4:30, the Easter Bunny will be at the branch for pictures. An Easter Egg Hunt will follow. Adults will have some Easter fun by making an Easter Bunny wreath on Tuesday, March 22 at 4:30. (registration required)
Lockport Branch: The Easter Bunny is hopping on over to the Lockport Library! Come take a picture with him. Saturday, March 12 at 2:00. The library will be showing Paramount Pictures’ Peter Rabbit on Saturday, March 19 at 10:30. On Thursday, March 24 at 10:30 at Bayouside Park, the library will sponsor its annual Extraordinary Egg Hunt. Join in the fun!
Larose Branch: On Thursday, March 24 at 11:00, the library will host its Eggs-travaganza story time. Children from 0 to 5 years will be visited by the Easter Bunny and participate in an egg hunt. Bring your camera for taking a photo of your child with the Easter Bunny.
South Lafourche Branch: The Easter Bunny will hop to the library to take photos with you and your family. You can bring a camera, but the library will provide a free photo at a later date. Wednesday, March 16 from 4:30-6:00. It’s eggs galore at the library’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. All are welcome to attend. Tuesday, March 22 at 10:30.
Golden Meadow Branch: Everyone is welcome to come visit with the Easter Bunny on Tuesday, March 22 at 5:00. Don’t forget your camera.
