Drum Roll Please....Lady Chops!

I can remember back to my high school days pretty easily; they weren’t all THAT long ago. Despite the fact I could not carry a tune to save my life (still can’t), my best friend in high school was a member of the EDW vanguard, and a female percussionist to boot. During her heyday in band, EDW went on the create its own and rack up awards in Winter Guard, a percussion-centered competition in which high school bands in this region now regularly participate.
Like many high school band students, a career can be made of music. Elizabeth Vidos is one of those students. Hailing from Morgan City, Elizabeth graduated from EDW, went on to play and perform in college, and was eventually hired by the sensational stage show Stomp. After a successful career touring with this troupe, Elizabeth honed her percussion skills to the smaller stage, and Lady Chops was born!
Elizabeth, AKA Lady Chops, will bring her one-woman drumming show, Drum Roll Please, to the South Lafourche, Lockport, and Thibodaux branches during the Thanksgiving break week:
Monday November 21: South Lafourche at 10am and Lockport at 2pm Tuesday November 22: Thibodaux at 10am
Drum Roll Please is an interactive, one-woman show that incorporates over 15 instruments and audience participation. Elizabeth uses buckets, scrub boards, and even her body to create sounds that form beats and music. Audiences are invited to join in and participate throughout her show. Elizabeth will show folks how to make music with their own bodies, as well as use objects you can find around your house at instruments.
This program is free and open to the public, and we encourage you to take this opportunity during Thanksgiving Break to visit your library, and especially enjoy a music performance!
