Every year when Mardi Gras rolls into town, I feel lucky to have been born and raised in Louisiana. No one throws a party like we do, and we are always celebrating something, whether it’s crawfish season, one of our many festivals, or … Mardi Gras! Yep, carnival season is in the air, and if you’re like me, I bet you can’t wait to “laissez les bons temps rouler!” Your Lafourche Parish Public Library is ready to don the purple, green, and gold as well! We have lots of festive programming scheduled for you this month!

Les Petites Enfants Children’s Preschool Mardi Gras Parade - Preschool children are invited to take part in the library's annual Les Petites Enfants Mardi Gras parade, which takes place in the library parking lot. Children can dress in costume and either walk or ride in wagons or strollers. For their safety, children are not allowed to ride in motorized vehicles. Children should bring their own throws. Spectators are needed, so please attend if you can.
