Children’s Book Week: May 1-7
Children’s Book Week, which was established in 1919, is an annual celebration of children’s books, reading, and literacy. Events are held in libraries, schools, bookstores, and homes where children and books come together. This year, come join us at the Lafourche Parish Library to celebrate this national literacy initiative. There will be stories, crafts, and activities to entice the most reluctant or the most enthusiastic reader to embrace the wonder of books. You can also stop in at these branches to receive free Gummy “Bookworms”: Gheens Branch (all week); South Lafourche Branch (Tuesday and Friday); Larose Branch (Wednesday); Golden Meadow Branch (Thursday). Come and rediscover an old favorite book, or find a new favorite from the recently added children’s books. Join the celebration!
