Mother's Day @ LPPL!

Mother’s Day is fast approaching on Sunday, May 14th! If you haven’t created or bought a gift to celebrate your Mom yet, check out what’s happening at a library branch near you. From High Tea celebrations to creating your own paper flowers, our libraries are sure to inspire you with ideas.

Mother’s Day has been observed from as early as 1872 in the United States; however, President Woodrow Wilson signed a resolution on May 9, 1914 to make it an official observance. In 1915, it became an official annual observance. White carnations are worn to honor mothers who have died, and red or pink carnations are for those who are living.

Let your library help you celebrate your mother this year!
