End of School=Summer Fun @ Lafourche Parish Library

It’s that time of year again! The kids are out of school and starting to wonder, “What will I do this summer?” Have no fear, the Lafourche Parish Library is ready to deliver with our annual Summer Reading Program whose theme this year is Build a Better World! (Construye un MundoMejor!).

Kids of all ages can join us on Tuesday, May 30th at any Lafourche Parish Library location to register for daily offerings of fun, entertaining and constructive activities that begin on Thursday, June 1st and last until Thursday, July 28th.

In addition to story times and craft workshops, we’ve added some new entertainment and activities that are sure to elevate and create excitement for babies and toddlers, tweens, teens, and adults. Here’s a sample of what you’ll find to help you Build a Better World:

  • Build a Better Reader by improving your reading skills! Reach your reading goal and register to win a new bike.

  • Get a Build a Better World Summer Reading yard sign when you sign up for Summer Reading activities (one per family while supplies last).

  • Be prepared to get up-close and personal learning about constructive critters with Animal Architects by Animal Tales.

  • The Magic Yo-Yo show promises to create a fantastical world using magic, yo-yos, juggling, and comedy.

  • Our one of a kind summer library shirts feature the Lafourche Parish Library mascot, Garcon, along with designs that highlight our summer reading theme.

The Lafourche Parish Library is dedicated to Building a Better World by Building Better Readers! Please join us in making a better world in your community. We hope you enjoy assembling, creating, crafting and inventing with us!

Visit or call any Lafourche Parish Library branch for details and dates for all of our summer reading events. You can also visit the library website at www.lafourche.org for more information.
