Every September since 1987, libraries across the country have joined together to highlight the value of owning a library card. Choosing the month of September is no accident—it’s back to school time! At this special time of year, libraries have always worked with parents and schools to show students that signing up for a library card is one of the best steps to take to invest in academic achievement and lifelong learning.

Students - Want to know the only thing more powerful than a Teen Titan? A library card!!
During Library Card Sign-up Month, crime fighting DC Super Heroes, the Teen Titans, are teaming up with the Lafourche Parish Library to encourage K-12 students to sign-up for a free library card. LPPL library card registration forms will be available at all area schools—see your school librarian for more information. You can also visit any of our nine library branches or our library website to register on line (link from website). And if you need more incentive to get a library card, one lucky winner at each library branch who registers for a new account from now until the end of September will be chosen to receive a nifty prize.
