For many years, public libraries have evolved their services to include informal science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEM) and (STEAM) education. These programs and exhibits inspire children and adults alike and support them in their lifelong learning which is a basic tenet of Lafourche Parish Library’s mission.
Libraries play a key role in introducing their customers to emerging technologies such as 3D printers, robotics, and coding. Your local LPPL libraries are no different. We have many cutting-edge STEM programing each month and are always looking at introducing more exciting programs to bring to you monthly.
Currently we have:
3D printers at Thibodaux and South Lafourche
3Doodler Pens that are like 3D printers in pen form
K’Nex
Cublets
Ozobots coding robots
Dash and Dots robots
Lego Mindstorms
Lego WeDo Robots
Cool Circuits
Magna Tiles
Many various art activities
Thomas the Train building tables at Thibodaux, Lockport & South Lafourche
