March is National Craft Month

If craftiness is your happiness, then we can help. In addition to hundreds of books on crafting and DIY projects, the library has an expansive collection of high quality, always available, online reference resources. If digital is what you prefer, use your library card to check out crafting magazines with Flipster. Real Simple, Family Circle, Fine Gardening, and Do It Yourself are a few titles you might try. Use Hoopla for more than 1,500 crafting and DIY eBooks and videos. Look for Plant Craft, Horseshoe Crafts, Holiday Crafts, Elegant Ribbonwork, Easy-To-Do Beadwork, or Cardboard Creatures.

But wait—there’s more. With your library card, you have online access to EBSCO’s Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center database that contains exclusive articles, periodicals, books, and videos focusing on hobbies and crafts. Browse these categories: arts & crafts, collecting, home & garden, indoor recreation, kids’ crafts, model building, needlecrafts & textiles, outdoor recreations, performing arts, science & technology, and scrapbooking & papercrafts.

You can also access EBSCO's Home Improvement Reference Center database designed to assist homeowners in do-it-yourself home repair, maintenance, and remodeling projects. Step-by-step instructions for thousands of projects in the areas of plumbing, outdoor, woodworking, electrical, and decorating are provided in high-quality PDF files.

If you prefer an up-close and personal crafting experience, you will find demos, workshops, and displays for all ages every month at each of our nine library branches. Check here for details, and plan a visit. We would love to pass a crafternoon with you!
