Maximizing Your Summer Reading Experience: It's no secret that Summer Reading is pretty much the hottest thing to ever hit the library scene. There's the programs, the performers, not to mention the rad prizes ... there's really no better place to spend the summer than at your library. We have so much going on during the summer, and we know you're not going to want to miss a thing - which is where following us on social media (especially Facebook) comes into play. Social media is the number one place where we advertise what is happening in our branches. From upcoming performances & story times, to special contests & giveaways, to pictures & more pictures ... you can find it all on our social media accounts.
It's the Place for Events: If you love your library because of the wide variety of programming we provide, then you're definitely going to want to connect with us on Facebook. Using Facebook's "Events" functionality, we create event pages for upcoming programs & performances. On those event pages, you can mark yourself as "Interested or Going" to receive updates & reminders about the event. We're Addicted to Pics: At LPPL, we take a lot of photos of things happening in our library branches. Whether it be program snapshots, contest winners, or just our community getting together for some good old-fashioned fun, we always have a camera handy. So what do we do with all of those pictures? One place that we share them is on social media! Follow us & never miss a memory.
May is Social Media Month, and we are giving back to our social media supporters by offering a chance to win one of nine $10 Wal-Mart gift cards, courtesy of the South Lafourche Friends of the Library! So how do you win? Simply show our staff members on your mobile device or on a computer that you are following us on social media. For each account that you are following (Facebook, Instagram & Twitter), you will receive a ticket to enter the gift card drawing. On June 1, each of our branches will pull their winning social media supporter & will call them to pick up their prize! You are allowed to enter once a day, so the more days you visit us this month, the more chances you have to win! Last, but not least, if you want to follow us but don't know how, simply ask one of our staff members who will gladly help you!
