Mother’s Day in May and Father’s Day in June are popular, well-known holidays, but there are three very special days in July that are not as well-known. In fact, many people have never heard of Gorgeous Grandma Day, Parents’ Day, and Aunts and Uncles Day. Every year, Gorgeous Grandma Day is celebrated on July 23rd. Many of us enjoy spending time with our grandmothers because we love them, they share nuggets of wisdom with us, and let’s face it: they bake amazing cookies. Parents’ Day is celebrated on July 22nd. This special day recognizes the many sacrifices parents make in supporting and raising their children. On July 26th, Aunts and Uncles are celebrated for the wonderful people they are. Aunts and Uncles usually give us nice gifts and take us to fun and amazing places. Sometimes, Aunts and Uncles become caregivers to their nieces and nephews.
At Lafourche Parish Public Library, we are celebrating the Gorgeous Grandmas, the Aunts and Uncles, and the Parents in our community. Below is a listing of the many festivities taking place at the libraries throughout Lafourche Parish in honor of these amazing people.
