Sing, Dance, Laugh, & Learn at Story Time!

I attended my first Story Time at the Thibodaux Branch Library this week. Ms. Kim was amazing with the kids and kept the kids engaged the entire program. There was singing, dancing, and a fun craft after the story. The best part was that the children were excited to play and read in the library after the program.

Not only is Story Time a free and family-friendly activity, it encourages early literacy, child development, and school readiness skills. At Story Time, children can learn new songs, participate in hands-on activities, as well as hear new books. Singing provides phonetical awareness. Participating in crafts reinforces fine motor skills that they will use to learn to write. Playing with toys at playtime encourages children’s oral communication. Story Time is a great way to meet other parents in the community and for your children to socialize. I hope this entices you to bring your children to the next Story Time.
