Lafourche Parish Public Library is proud to be a stalwart organization in our little bayou community & we are excited to give back to you this National Library Week through programming & the return of our Library Luck Scratch Off game! Attend programs & check out items during National Library Week to earn a scratch-off. Every ticket is an instant winner & will be entered into a Grand Prize Drawing for one of three special prizes donated by the South Lafourche Friends of the Library!
National Library Week, which is sponsored by the American Library Association, got its start in 1958, & is observed annually by libraries across the country. During the week, libraries & their patrons celebrate the contributions libraries have made to our communities, & promote library use & support. The theme for National Library Week 2019 is "Libraries = Strong Communities," & Gates Foundation Co-founder Melinda Gates is serving as the 2019 Honorary Chair.
