Join Us for an EPIC Summer Experience from Home!

Join us for an awesome Summer Experience at the Lafourche Parish Public Library beginning June 1st! There is so much to do and enjoy: online story times, special performances, activities, crafts, and reading challenges! You can enter drawings, win badges and prizes, write your own book reviews – and share them with other Lafourche Parish readers - learn how to paint, see creepy creatures, and sing out loud. This year’s theme is “Imagine Your Story.” Are you ready for a fantastic summer?

You can watch online story times on our website by clicking the “Summer Experience Online Events” link. Each week will premiere new story times at 10:30 am. Story Time with Ms. Heather will be on Mondays. Wednesdays will feature Yoga Story Time with Ms. Lisa. Ms. Allison will present Story Time with an Online View and Do craft every Friday. (Pick up your craft supplies from the library, available each Monday, to have everything ready for Friday’s project.) These story times will also be available on Facebook and YouTube.

Special Online Performances include:

(May 29-June 5) Animal Tales: Fantastic Creatures & Where They Are Found

(June 8-14) Page Turner Adventurers: Comedy Story Theater

(June 15-19) Calliope Puppets: Mouse Tales – Celebrate Our Power to Make a Difference!

(June 25-30) Roger Day: Zoo Keepers in the House, Rock the Zoo with Roger Day.

Special Art Workshops include:

(June 22-26) Artist Ellen McCord: Painting Workshop

(June 29-July 3) Artist Ellen McCord: Sculpturing Workshop

Pick up your free supplies (curbside) at the Library!

Take and Make crafts will be available at all Branches for free throughout the Summer. Each Monday will feature a new craft, so stop by and pick up yours! Summer Experience T-shirts and Bags are available for purchase in a wide range of sizes. Free Yard signs will be available soon! We will announce when the Yard Signs are in.

Sign up to participate in Summer Experience using Beanstack. Here you can log reading times, keep track of the books you’ve read, challenges completed, badges earned, and crafts created. You can also use the Beanstack app on your phone to track your progress. You can sign up as a family, or individually. As you log reading time, or complete challenges, you will earn tickets. These tickets can then be placed in drawings for the prizes of your choice.

It’s going to be an exciting time and we want you to join us for a wonderful Summer Experience with the Lafourche Parish Public Library. Imagine what Your Story will be!
