What's Happening: November 2022

Autumn is here in full force, and that means it is time for our community to gather together and celebrate everything that binds us to each other no matter our differences. Libraries are, at their heart, about community, pooling our resources for the widest possible usefulness, so this ranks as one of our favorite times of the year. Let’s check out some expected highlights.

Library 2 Geaux

Repairs to our South Lafourche and Golden Meadow branches are still in progress on the long road to repair and reopening, but the southern reaches of our parish will not be without library services. At the beginning of this month we are launching Library 2 Geaux, a mobile service that will be going to the Cut Off Youth Center on Tuesdays from 12-3:30 PM and Golden Meadow on Thursdays from 12-3:30 PM. Hope to see our loyal South Lafourche and Golden Meadow patrons there, maybe along with some new faces!

Veterans Day

Our country would not be what it is today without the brave men and women of our armed forces. In honor of them, your local library will be hosting events to show our appreciation. Be sure to look at our calendars to find out when and where they will be.

Thanksgiving Closure

In order to give our hard-working staff some time with their families, all branches will be closed starting with an early closure on November 23 @ 4 o’clock and continuing through November 27. Normal hours will resume November 28.

In the leadup to the big day, we will be hosting events and crafts to celebrate the season, so be sure to check in with your favorite branch to see how you can join in.
